Cambrian United Women’s Vets Make History With First-Ever Fixtures

Cambrian United are proud to mark another major milestone in our One Club journey as our Women’s Veterans team played their first-ever competitive fixtures this past weekend — a huge moment for the club and for female football in the Rhondda.

In their inaugural outing, the team showed unbelievable spirit, character and togetherness across three tough fixtures:

Cambrian 0–1 Evans & Williams

A tightly contested opener where Cambrian impressed with their organisation and resilience. A well-taken penalty was the difference, but the performance set a strong early standard.

Cambrian 0–1 Penybont

Another narrow defeat, but once again the group showed real heart and discipline. The team created chances, defended bravely, and continued to grow into the competition.

Cambrian 0–3 Cardiff City

The final fixture of the day saw our Women’s Vets face a strong Cardiff side. Despite the result, this game represented a major stepping stone — the very first competitive matchday for a Cambrian United Women’s Vets squad in club history.

A Proud Moment for the Club

This was a landmark day for everyone involved. To see a Cambrian United Women’s Vets team representing our badge for the first time is something truly special, and a testament to the growth of the female game within the valley and our One Club model.

The attitude, pride and commitment shown by the players was outstanding — and this is only the beginning. With more fixtures to come, the foundations are now firmly in place for the team to grow, develop and enjoy their football together.

We’d like to thank all players, staff and supporters who made this historic moment possible.

One Club. One Community. One Cambrian.
