Eason Hat-Trick Inspires Cambrian’s 4-0 Opening Day Victory

Cambrian started their league campaign in emphatic fashion, recording a commanding 4-0 win over Treowen Stars. A first-half hat-trick from new signing Liam Eason sealed the game early, while Calum Bateman’s late strike put the result beyond doubt. Backed by a strong defensive display, Cambrian celebrated a clean sheet and a perfect start to the season.

From the opening whistle, Cambrian took control, pressing aggressively and keeping the game in Treowen’s half. The visitors struggled to keep possession as the hosts piled on early pressure in search of the breakthrough. It took just 15 minutes for Cambrian to strike. Camillo Strinati launched a long ball to Josh Allen, who drove forward and whipped in a cross that found the head of Welsh football’s golden boy, Liam Eason. Rising above the defence, Eason powered the ball past the keeper to open the scoring.

Treowen tried to respond with a long ball into Cambrian’s box, but Cael Jones’ rushed attempt flew wide. Moments later, Cambrian doubled their lead. Cameron Keetch powered a pass into the area which deflected off a Treowen defender, but Eason reacted quickest, lofting a clever shot over the keeper to make it 2-0.

The home side continued to dominate. Allen came close to adding a third, only to be denied by the keeper. In the 31st minute, a swift move from Bateman to Strinati ended with another pinpoint cross to Eason, who replicated his opening header to complete a stunning hat-trick. In just half an hour, Eason had cemented himself as the star of the night.

Treowen, struggling to cope, created a rare chance before the break. A corner found Meechan on the edge of the area, but his strike was brilliantly saved by Cambrian goalkeeper Morgan Davies. The first half ended with the hosts firmly in control at 3-0. The second half saw a more even contest in terms of possession, but the pace slowed, and neither side registered a shot until the 70th minute. Cambrian’s fans kept urging their team forward, and when a cross found Keetch in space, he unleashed a powerful strike from outside the box.

The Treowen keeper reacted well, punching the ball wide to deny the hosts a fourth. From the resulting corner, Bateman’s touch was comfortably gathered by the keeper.Treowen began to push higher, desperate to grab at least one goal. They pressed hard, but Cambrian’s defence remained resolute, blocking every attempt and keeping them well away from goal.

With ten minutes left, Cambrian struck again. Strinati, who had been outstanding throughout, spotted Bateman’s run and delivered a perfect cross. Bateman controlled well and calmly slotted the ball past the defence, securing Cambrian’s fourth goal of the night.

Treowen launched one last attack and earned a free kick in a promising position, but their effort sailed high over the bar, summing up their frustrating evening. When the final whistle blew, one side was relieved it was over while the other celebrated a perfect performance. Cambrian’s 4-0 victory was a statement win, combining attacking flair with defensive strength. With Eason’s debut hat-trick and Bateman’s late strike, the Cam Army head into the season full of confidence and momentum
