Cambrian United FC is proud to announce a significant milestone in the club’s history, as Gareth Evans becomes the first ever full-time member of staff at the football club.
A Key Moment in Club Development.
Gareth, who has been a long-standing part of the Cambrian setup, takes on the full-time role of Academy Manager, reflecting the club’s growing ambition and continued investment in youth development. His appointment comes as Cambrian United looks to build on recent momentum and set a new standard across the region.
Gareth has worked across various roles at the club for several years—balancing his time as a coach, tutor, and academy lead. His transition to a full-time position is a result of his tireless work and the impact he’s already had on developing players both on and off the pitch.
Building Towards a Stronger Future.
With the club recently achieving Category B Academy status, Gareth’s new role will focus on helping Cambrian push forward with its application for Category A status, a move that would elevate the academy’s stature to among the best in Wales.
“This is a major step for Cambrian United,” said a club spokesperson. “Appointing Gareth on a full-time basis shows our commitment to growing the club the right way—by investing in people, the academy, and our long-term football structure.”
The appointment is part of a wider strategy to enhance the “One Club” approach, creating a clear pathway from youth football through to the senior team, and strengthening the connection between academy, first team, and community.
A Milestone for Cambrian and the Rhondda
Cambrian United’s continued infrastructure improvements—3G facilities, gym upgrades, and growing backroom operations—are now complemented by this off-the-pitch investment in staffing. Having a full-time member of staff will provide consistency, drive, and leadership at all levels of the footballing operation.
As Gareth takes on this new challenge, he will lead on:
- Day-to-day academy management
- Player development and progression
- Coaching standards and education
- Recruitment and pathway structure
- Supporting the club’s broader football strategy
Cambrian United would like to congratulate Gareth on this new chapter and thank him for his ongoing dedication to the badge.
This is more than a job—it’s a legacy in the making.
