At Cambrian United, we’re proud of our history — and even prouder of the people who’ve shaped it. Among them, Huw Bowtell stands tall as one of the club’s most loyal servants and greatest ever players.
Huw’s journey with Cambrian was not about flash or headlines, it was about consistency, leadership, and passion. Week in, week out, through highs and lows, he pulled on the shirt with pride. Over the years, he became a central figure in Cambrian’s rise,lifting trophies, and mentoring generations of young players.
As the club’s all-time appearance holder, Huw’s name is etched into the identity of Cambrian United. He made an outstanding 272 league appearances and 42 cup appearances for the club; a true mark of his dedication and longevity.Scoring 90 League goals and 19 Cup goals.
But beyond the stats, it’s the way he carried himself. Committed, humble, and fiercely loyal he earned the love and respect of everyone from the terraces to the dressing room. Whether leading from the back, scoring vital goals, or simply rallying the boys around him, Huw’s presence was always felt.
He embodied the Cambrian spirit.
On Friday night, we pay tribute to a man who gave his all to this club, both on the pitch, and in the community. Join us as we welcome Huw back and say thank you to a true Cambrian legend.
