Last month, Cambrian United proudly played host to an incredible day of women’s walking football
as our very own Hotsteppers welcomed teams from across Wales and the South West of England to
the M&P 3G for a festival of football, friendship, and fun.
With teams travelling from as far as Devon, the tournament featured clubs including:
- Plymouth Argyle
- Exeter City
- Dawlish
- Taunton
- Caldicot
- Penydarren
- Cwmbrn
- Cardiff City
- Braunton
The average age of participants was 50, with players ranging from 38 to 70 years old, proving that
passion for the game truly knows no age limit.
Across four hours of walking football, we saw some fantastic skills, competitive spirit, and most
importantly – a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day.
Caldicot were crowned tournament Cup Winners, while Braunton took home the Plate – but every
team left with smiles and stories to share. As for our Hotsteppers? Let’s just say… we’ve got room
for improvement!

The feedback from visiting teams was overwhelming:
“Thank you from all of us at Cwmbrn Celtic. We absolutely loved it. Very well organised and a
fantastic atmosphere. Loved it!”
“Us Swans Dawlish Women Walking Football had a great day. The facilities are amazing. Thank you
so much – we’re already looking forward to next year!”
We’re incredibly proud to have hosted this event, which not only showcased the growing women’s
walking football movement, but also highlighted the inclusive and welcoming environment we’re
committed to building here at Cambrian.
Here’s to many more!
