JD Cymru South | Saturday | 14:30 KO | The M&P Group 3G
Cambrian United return to JD Cymru South action this afternoon as they welcome Carmarthen Town to the M&P Group 3G, with plenty of focus on both the football and the wider community.
Cambrian United Form
Cambrian come into the fixture in strong league form, having secured important victories away at Aberystwyth Town (2–1) and Caerau Ely (3–2), alongside an emphatic 5–2 home win over Cardiff Draconians. Progress in cup competition was also achieved with a 1–0 victory over Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Nathaniel MG Cup.
While last weekend’s MG Cup semi-final defeat to Barry Town United provided a tough test against top-flight opposition, attention now turns firmly back to league action as Liam Williams’ side look to maintain momentum and make home advantage count.

The Opposition
Carmarthen Town arrive in RCT following a mixed but competitive run of results. League victories against Ynysir Albions and Afan Lido highlight their ability to pick up points, while draws with Caerau Ely and Ammanfordunderline their resilience. The reverse fixture earlier in the season ended in a goalless draw, demonstrating how closely matched the two sides can be.
In the Dugout
Carmarthen are led by Mark Aizlewood, a former Welsh international with an outstanding playing career. Aizlewood earned 39 senior caps for Wales and represented clubs including Newport County, Luton Town, Charlton Athletic, Leeds United, Bristol City and Cardiff City during a long professional career. His experience at the highest level brings significant leadership and knowledge to the Carmarthen setup.
Opposite him, Cambrian United manager Liam Williams continues to develop his managerial journey, guiding a hungry and ambitious squad that has shown strong character and progression this season. Williams will be keen to test his side against an experienced Carmarthen outfit and continue Cambrian’s positive league momentum.
A Welcome Return
The club is pleased to welcome back former Cambrian players Joe Evans and Liam Reed, both of whom previously represented the club. We thank them for their contributions during their time at Cambrian and wish them well on their return to the M&P Group 3G.

Matchday Foodbank Appeal
Today’s fixture also supports a local foodbank appeal, with supporters encouraged to bring along tins or non-perishable food items to help families across the community during the festive period.
Minute’s Silence
Ahead of kick-off, the club will observe a minute’s silence in memory of Les Gregory, who proudly represented Cambrian United during the 1960s and 1970s. Les is remembered fondly for his contribution to the club, and we invite all supporters to join us in paying their respects.
Final Word
With contrasting managerial experience, strong recent form behind the hosts and a competitive Carmarthen Town side arriving in Tonypandy, all the ingredients are in place for an engaging afternoon of JD Cymru South football.
Kick-off is 14:30, and the club encourages supporters to arrive early, get behind the team and continue to show what One Cambrian is all about 💙
