Meet Our First Team Coaching and Support Staff

At Cambrian United FC, our first team’s success is built not just on the talent on the pitch, but on the dedication, experience, and passion of the people guiding and supporting them from the sidelines. Our coaching and support team work tirelessly to prepare the squad tactically, technically, and mentally for every challenge across the Cymru South campaign.

Liam Williams – First Team Manager

Liam Williams is, without question, Mr Cambrian. Having been part of the club from a young age both as a player and a coach, he truly bleeds blue. His commitment to Cambrian is second to none, and his connection with the club runs far deeper than matchdays. Away from Cambrian, Liam gained valuable managerial experience with Blaenrhondda and Ton Pentre, further developing his tactical acumen and leadership skills.

Known for his class both on and off the pitch, Liam sets the standards, embodies the club’s values, and leads by example in everything he does.

Adrian Needs – Assistant Manager

Adrian Needs brings a wealth of experience and a lifetime in football to his role as Assistant Manager. A former player with Swansea City, Ebbw Vale, and Merthyr Tydfil, Adrian has spent his entire career within the football circuit, building an outstanding reputation for his knowledge, professionalism, and contacts across South Wales.

His managerial and coaching journey has included successful spells at Porth, Aberbargoed Buds, and Taffs Well, before returning to Cambrian — a club he has served across various years. Well connected and highly respected, Adrian’s insight, tactical understanding, and ability to inspire players make him an invaluable member of the coaching team.

Gareth Evans – First Team Coach

Gareth Evans is the driving force behind Cambrian United’s thriving Academy. His commitment is second to none, and over many years at the club he has transformed the Academy into a structure that continues to go from strength to strength. A true footballing man with a deep understanding of player development, Gareth has created a pathway that nurtures young talent, instills the club’s values, and prepares players to progress into senior football.

His passion for the game and for Cambrian ensures that the future of the club is always in safe hands.

Luke Evans – Goalkeeping Coach

This season marks Luke Evans’ first as Cambrian’s Goalkeeper Coach, and he is already developing impressively into the role. A respected figure in the Rhondda football community, Luke’s playing career was unfortunately cut short after a serious head injury sustained while playing for Ynyshir Albion during their last campaign in the Cymru South.

Despite this setback, Luke has brought his wealth of playing experience and local knowledge into coaching, working closely with our goalkeepers to sharpen their skills, confidence, and match readiness.

Morganne Tuchli Davies – Sports Therapist

Now in her second season with the club, Morganne Tuchli Davies has become a vital part of the Cambrian United set-up. Her work in developing the medical and sports therapy department has been invaluable, ensuring players receive top-level injury prevention, treatment, and recovery support. Morganne’s dedication to her role, combined with her growing expertise, makes her an essential figure both on matchdays and throughout the week.

Her influence continues to strengthen one of the most important areas of the club’s operations.

Amal Vijayappan – Performance Analyst

Amal is currently completing his MSc in Sports Coaching and Performance, set to graduate in September 2025. Alongside his studies, he works as a Mentor for the FAW PAWB Programme 2025 (April–September), an initiative dedicated to supporting and inspiring individuals from Black, Asian, Mixed-Heritage, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds who are interested in exploring opportunities within football.

Holding an AFC C Licence, Amal has gained professional coaching experience in India, working across grassroots to senior categories. His passion for the game extends beyond coaching, with a keen interest in player scouting and talent identification.

The Kit Team –Antony Coombes,Callum Watts & Mark Watts

Behind the scenes, our kit team of Antony Coombes, Callum Watts, and Mark Watts play a vital role in ensuring the squad is fully prepared on matchdays. From managing and organising the playing kit, to ensuring all training and match equipment is ready, their hard work keeps everything running smoothly. Often the first to arrive and the last to leave, this dedicated trio are an essential part of the Cambrian United matchday machine.

A Team Behind the Team

Our first team coaching and support staff are more than just voices on the touchline – they are mentors, motivators, and the driving force behind Cambrian United’s ambitions. Together, they share one goal: to ensure that every player wearing the Cambrian shirt is ready to represent the club with pride, passion, and purpose.
