As we approach Christmas, I would like to take a moment to wish all our supporters, players, volunteers, partners, and the wider Cambrian community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
This festive period also gives us the opportunity to reflect on what has been a hugely positive and progressive year for Cambrian United Football Club — one that demonstrates just how far we have come and where we are heading together.

Men’s First Team
Our Men’s First Team currently sits top of the Cymru South, placing us in a strong position to challenge for one of the three promotion places and potentially bring Cymru Premier football to the club an exciting prospect for everyone connected with Cambrian United.
This year also saw a major milestone as Frazer Thomas became the club’s first properly contracted player, reflecting both our ambition and our commitment to doing things the right way as we move forward.
On the pitch and in the dugout, the quality across the group continues to shine through, with Liam Eason and Liam Williams consistently being recognised in the Cymru South Player and Manager of the Month conversations a testament to the standards being set across the squad and management team.

Women’s & Girls’ Section
Our Women’s First Team has started the season undefeated in the league, firmly challenging for promotion. The appointment of Claire O’Sullivan as Head Coach has taken the programme to another level, both in standards and ambition.
The recent fixture against The New Saints in the Bute Energy Cup provided invaluable experience against Adran Premier opposition — an important step in the continued development of the section.
It has also been fantastic to see the Hot Steppers walking football group fully integrated into the club structure and thriving on the pitch. On the back of this success, Cambrian United is now proud to be one of the founding clubs of the Women’s Veterans League congratulations and thank you to Joanne Davies for driving this forward.

Academy & Player Pathways
Our Academy and Infantry sections continue to deliver elite coaching and genuine opportunities for young players across the area. The appointment of Gareth Evans as a Full time Academy director was a significant step forward, and we remain fully committed to growing and supporting this vital part of the club.
I am also delighted to say that we believe we have now achieved our 100th and 101st academy players signing with professional clubs since the academy’s inception a remarkable achievement that reflects years of hard work. We look forward to celebrating this milestone through dedicated online content in the months ahead.
Disability Football
The Cambrian United Disability Section is now back up and running, and as a club we are fully committed to supporting and growing this area, ensuring football remains accessible to all within our community.
Commercial & Club Growth
Off the pitch, the club continues to strengthen its foundations.
- The Café has become a major success across matchdays, providing a vital and profitable revenue stream that simply didn’t exist in previous years. My thanks go to Gavin Davies and all the café volunteers who make this possible.
- The Club Shop is now fully up and running — it’s fantastic to see Cambrian United merchandise being worn with pride. This is about more than profit; it’s about identity, belonging, and atmosphere.
- The Cambrian United Business Club will officially launch in February, creating valuable networking opportunities for sponsors and local businesses while strengthening our commercial offering.
Community & Partnerships
I would like to place on record my thanks to Mikey Jones and Phillip Williams for their continued support through CVT, and to all CVT volunteers who contribute so much on matchdays and around the ground. Our relationship continues to grow positively, and the Community Hub project will be a huge benefit to the area.
Looking ahead, we are eager to expand our joint work on after-school programmes, community coaching initiatives, and educational pathways. creating new opportunities for young people within both the club and the wider community.
Finally, none of this progress would be possible without the unwavering support of our supporters, volunteers, sponsors, staff, players, and partners. Your commitment to Cambrian United is what drives us forward.
On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a successful, healthy, and exciting New Year.
Luke Davies
